Hong Kong Photo Diary

A major throwback to last November's Hong Kong trip. This post is long overdue and I was in a dilemma of whether I should even blog about it. And my answer was YES. Simply because there were so many beautiful pictures taken and memories made in Hong Kong that they shouldn't lie idle in my photo album.

We traveled to Hong Kong after our A-Level's AS paper. It was suggested by Lucas because he was planning to visit his sister in Hong Kong. After hearing it, Sin Yee, Hui Yee, Song Yong and myself volunteered to join and somehow the trip worked. We actually encountered some problems before the trip began. Song Yong's passport was less than 6 months to its expiry date, so he couldn't board the same flight as us and had to renew his passport on that day we departed. Mercifully, everything else went smoothly.

Travelling with all these foodies (or makan material, that's how we called the gluttons in Malaysia) has its perks. They will never let your stomach go empty at any time. Sin Yee even drafted a list of restaurants and dessert shops we needed to visit. I'll list down some of my favourite places among those that we went.

1. Chee Kei was the first restaurant we visited after checking in our hotel. We had their signature Wanton Noodle as well as the porridge. In Malaysia, we also have Wanton Noodles but it's the dry version and it comes with a plate. However, in Hong Kong, the Wanton Noodle here has some broth and it comes in a bowl.

2. Australia Dairy Company . Don't be confused about the name, because it is the genuine name for the restaurant. It mainly serves Hong Kong style breakfast, including hot soya milk, sandwiches, scramble eggs, macaroni, etc.. The queue to enter the restaurant was long but fast, so don't worry.

3. Capital Cafe 華星冰室 was another place where we had our Hong Kong breakfast. If my memory serves me right, it was opened by a few Hong Kong celebrities. Inside the restaurant, there were a lot of vintage Levi's Jeans as decoration.

4. Patisserie Tony Wong for dessert. They have the most delicate design for desserts, such as the shape of diamonds and roses.

5. Atum Desserant. I give kudos to their creativity for the improvised dessert drawing. However, it's a bit pricey. You'll need to book your seats first due to the small space of the shop. We shot the scary-looking concrete jungle pictures on the balcony outside the shop.

The trip was more about eating and shopping 'cause we've previous been to most of the iconic spots in Hong Kong already. We attempted to go to places we haven't been to such as Harbour City, Ocean Park and Ozone Bar. I'd like to emphasize especially on Ozone Bar. It is supposed to be the highest bar in the world and this reason was sufficient enough for us to go check it out. We had our best time there, savouring drinks amidst the clouds while overlooking the night life of the city.

Hong Kong is such a shopping heaven for shopaholics. There are so many shopping malls, more than I can count and they offered all sorts of brands. From high street to designer brands, you can find all of them in Hong Kong. As we were just students with limited funds to shop, all we could do was merely window shop.  Except for Sin Yee, Hui Yee's elder sister, an adult with steady income brought us in and out the designer shops. It was fun for me but I don't think the boys felt the same way. Haha.

I hope you guys enjoyed this post, till the next one!

Love,
