Strawberry Farm

(Hat, top and shorts from H&M, Hunter x Hunter The Label necklace, Birkenstock sandals, Chanel Boy Bag)

Sometime late February, Leo and I rented a car and drove to Yarra Valley for strawberry picking. We went to Blue Hills Berries and Cherries, just in time before the blackberry season ended. Hence, we were able to fill our box with some fresh blackberries.

It was a scorching hot day so I was glad that my gigantic straw hat came in handy, although wearing a white shirt and shoes was probably not a smart choice. I had berry stains all over my top and mud stains on my sandals. But I'm not complaining because the photos turned out great and the stains were easily washed off.

We spent approximately 3 hours in the strawberry farm. It sure was a soul-healing experience to be away from the city and have the experience of plucking fresh produce. My boyfriend and I enjoyed ourselves a lot there. Would definitely come back again when the berries are in season.

Sweet divide

(Pyjama top from Missguided, faux leather shorts from H&M, Adidas NMD, vintage Chanel 2.55)

It was a lazy day for me and so I decided to wear my pyjamas out. Just kidding, haha, it was indeed my pyjamas but it wasn't the one I slept in. I felt that the leather shorts would be a fun twist to the pyjamas top. I kept it rather casual by wearing my NMD sneakers and then finished off with my vintage Chanel 2.55. A mixture of street style and classic.

Can you guys believe these series of photos were taken in December 2016? Gosh, I really have to work on my backlog of posts. Many things have changed since then. However,  I wouldn't want it any other way.

you know you love me xoxo

(Leather jacket from Forever 21, blouse and skirt from H&M, boots from Dotti, earrings from Colette by Colette Hayman, Chanel bag)

These photos were taken last year actually (oops!) when I had just finished watching Gossip Girl. I know this American series has been around for ages but my friends have been re-watching over and over so I was curious to find out why! It turned out that I absolutely loved this show and I can understand why people still re-watch it even after all this time!

This outfit was inspired by the outfits worn in the show. I opted for this sheer blouse instead of a white long sleeved shirt made out of other materials because it gave out a more feminine and modest vibe. (Does it make sense to you? :P) Black leather jacket is also a staple in my wardrobe. It just instantly elevates a simple outfit to appear more chic and cool. Plus, the rather stiff material of this black leather jacket contrasted with the soft material of the sheer blouse, making the whole layering of the outfit fun to play with. Besides that, I love the print of this wrapped skirt! What do you guys think about this outfit? Comment below!

A Waterfall of Lullabies

Shocking enough to believe that this is actually my first blog post in 2017. I thought I would be able to blog more often in December but I was lucky enough to get a Christmas Casual job in Melbourne, so it was a restless month for me.

Even so, summer was great! In the beginning of the year, I went on a road trip with my mates to The Grampians. After building our tent at the campsite, we headed to Mackenzie Falls. It was a long walk down to the waterfall and of course a long walk up back to our car. Though we weren't allowed to swim there, chilling by the shores was a good idea too. It was therapeutic, surrounding yourself with Mother Nature and your ride or die mates.

Tulip Festival

Growing up in a tropical country like Malaysia, and being someone who only goes on an overseas vacation during the end of the year when most of the countries on Northern hemisphere are experiencing autumn/winter, it was my first time actually experiencing spring. It is such a wondrous season of the year where plants regain their colours and flowers start blooming.

My friends and I decided to check out the Tesselaar Tulip Festival even though we were in the midst of preparing for final exams. We jumped on a train from the city to Lilydale station and then took a shuttle bus to our destination. We reached there more or less two hours before it closed.

We could look at this as either a good thing or a bad thing. A good thing because people were leaving and it was our chance to avoid any random passerbys being in our shots. A bad thing because we paid for the entry fees but did not have ample time to roam around the entire farm.

Nevertheless, it was a pleasure to take time off from books and surround ourselves with nature in the realm of colours. Since tulip is the national flower of the Netherlands, the souvenir shop and the dress-code of the staff there were all Dutch-themed. It was pretty impressive to have a sense of being in Holland while you are actually in Australia.

I have finished my finals and completed my first year at university for about 3 weeks already. Hence, I can finally blog about my visit to this festival! Barely anyone knew about my visit to this festival 'cause I haven't posted anything regarding tulips on my social media. I wanted to edit the photos nicely before I published it! And finally, here it is! I sincerely hope you guys love this post. It is one of my favourites!

'Til next time!

Update - iPhone photos

The month of June 2016 was intense but I'm just glad that this madness is over now. Looking back, I had no idea how I survived through the SWOT vacation. For those who don't know, SWOT vacation is a one week study break we're given before exams.

I had my first three commerce papers on the first two days right after SWOT vacation; an insane exam timetable that had become infamous among our seniors. After the 3 papers, I had more or less a fortnight to study for my final law paper. My first ever exam I had in uni ended last week. After that, my parents came over to visit me and, currently, we are on a road trip to Mornington Peninsula with friends whom I met in Melbourne.

Anyway, that was just a short update of my life after being away for quite some time. Stay tuned for the next blog post!

Gold Coast, Australia Photo Diary

photos by Hui Yee and me

Before 2014 comes to an end, I'm determined to cover all of the unpublished posts that I once promised to complete. First up, my Gold Coast, Australia trip which was in April. I know it's a long overdue post but better late than never, right?  It's been quite a while since I last updated my blog. I know I've made a promise that the next post would be up real soon but I have my reasons. Here's why: I recently lost most of my pictures due to my recklessness. I reformatted my external hard drive by accident, which sounds really stupid because no one actually reformats their external hard drive. Hence, the pictures I had accumulated for years all vanished in a blink of an eye. I couldn't recall what was in my external hard drive. I've been trying to retrieve some of the albums from my SD card and from my friends. Thankfully, I was still able to get back the most recent pictures like those from the Gold Coast trip and the Hong Kong trip. Farewell to those unrecovered pictures, those sweet memories long live in my heart.

Report completed and now let's get back to the topic. It was my first time to a country where the first language is English, and to a continent that is not Asia (finally!!). I joined in Hui Yee's family trip last minute and am so grateful to have them include me in their trip. The trip was short but sweet. I was also overwhelmed by the amiability of the locals. My luggage was the only one that did not arrive along with the other luggages and I'm much obliged to the airport staff for settling my problem and even refunding 150 Australian Dollars to me. Not only that, throughout the trip, the people I encountered were all friendly and helpful. At the Gold Coast beach, there was a lady offered to help us take a group picture without us even asking.

During our trip, we visited a lot of theme parks and farms. Sat on the best extreme rides in my life ever, said hello to koala beers and kangaroos, and they are so cute! (didn't get to hug them though.) Indulged ourselves in some serious shopping at Harbour Town, went out of my comfort zone and wore a bikini for the very first time, took plenty of photos along the beach and also on our hotel room's balcony. I had a great time with Hui Yee and her family in Gold Coast, Australia. Blogging this post made me miss Gold Coast so much! Till next time!
