Update - iPhone photos

The month of June 2016 was intense but I'm just glad that this madness is over now. Looking back, I had no idea how I survived through the SWOT vacation. For those who don't know, SWOT vacation is a one week study break we're given before exams.

I had my first three commerce papers on the first two days right after SWOT vacation; an insane exam timetable that had become infamous among our seniors. After the 3 papers, I had more or less a fortnight to study for my final law paper. My first ever exam I had in uni ended last week. After that, my parents came over to visit me and, currently, we are on a road trip to Mornington Peninsula with friends whom I met in Melbourne.

Anyway, that was just a short update of my life after being away for quite some time. Stay tuned for the next blog post!

Two Zero One Six

Zara top and flared pants, H&M Fedora, Lokai bracelet, Calvin Klein bag, Tiamo flats

And... it's another year. And... I am also well aware that it's already the 3rd week of this new year which means it's considered late to wish you guys "Happy New Year". But let's be charitable here and pardon me. We should all welcome this new year with an open heart, after all. But truly, it's crazy how time passes so quickly. Everything happened last year felt just like yesterday. To recap, I started the year off by entering my last semester of A Levels, sat for final exams in both May and June, officially completely the entire programme, took the opportunity to get a good rest for roughly six months before entering university, and lastly, I had my first ever job. In this post, I'd like to share with you what I've learnt in 2015.

1. Go offline
It's important to stay away from the Internet every now and then. As mentioned above, time passes so quickly - most of the time we are unable to relive the moment ever again. So why not stop using our phones, put them down and talk to the one next to you offline? I attempted to "live in the moment" more instead of updating my social media on the spot. I would usually do it after leaving that particular place or the day after. I find it's really healthy. However, don't get me wrong. I don't deny the usage of social media or the Internet in general. If it's put into proper use, it brings loads of convenience into our lives. And I am certainly grateful to be born in the era where I was able to witness the transition of lifestyle from non-digital to digital.

2. Read more books
Any books as long as it's not Facebook. Get the pun? ( Haha ) In all seriousness, knowledge is power, right? Newspapers serve the same purpose too. By spending a few minutes (or even better, a few hours) in a day reading, we get more insight about the happenings around the world - don't be ignorant.

3. Just be yourself
There's no one else in the world like you. There are many people who strive to be other people, as if they are not already unique in their own way. It isn't scientifically impossible to have two same human beings on the Earth. Hence, embrace your imperfections or weirdness and love yourself.

Well, that's the summary of what I've learnt last year. I look forward to become a better version of myself each day in 2016, and I sincerely hope the best for you guys this year. Do share with me what have you learnt last year, I'd really like to know.

Before ending this post, let's talk a tad bit about my outfit above. I styled this outfit to be navy on navy with a slight jazzy vibe by adding a fedora. I wanted to keep it minimalistic so I shot this outfit at the staircase with a white backdrop.

Afternoon Tea at The Majestic Hotel

Trying to feel sophisticated by having an afternoon tea session with my girlfriends, Patricia, Amanda and her sister at The Majestic Hotel Kuala Lumpur.  There are several venues in Majestic Hotel you can have high tea at, such as Orchid Conservatory and Tea Lounge, etc.. We picked the Colonial Cafe and booked the place a week in advance. The environment is exquisite. There was a pianist playing Bach pieces and some Christmas songs while we were savouring tea and eating scones. We definitely enjoyed ourselves very much there.

This is probably going to be the last blog post for 2015. I have so much to share with my readers, so I will make my year-end summary the first post for 2016. Till then. Happy New Year!

2 Cooks 1 Kitchen's Granola

My bff (or BFFLz, our esoteric term), Vivienne and her boyfriend are my new favourite love birds. When it comes to issues related to relationships, I believe a healthy relationship is one where both individuals are able to make each other the best version of their true selves. Vi and her boyfriend are the epitome of what I believe in. From what I've seen, they are supportive and often give constructive advice to each other. They also assisted each other in their studies whilst they were doing A-Levels, and the best part? They are even going to the same university.

Since they are currently having a long break before entering uni, like I currently am, they created an Instagram account called @2Cooks1Kitchen. The name of this account itself is super adorable, isn't it? It displays all the gourmet food they make together. Mouth-watering, good-looking food. Recently, they brought the account to a whole new level by commencing a business selling homemade granola. Knowing the fact that it's dairy-free and sugar-free, I've bought three packets so far. It's so addictive that I've already finished all of my purchases, need to restock ASAP!

If you're interested in acquiring some, please visit their Instagram or Facebook page. If you live in KL, they are even able to deliver to your doorstep.

Mon Monogram

photos by my father and me

L.T.J stands for Lim Thong Jean

I thought my next blog post would be after my finals. However, I just had to blog about this moment.

Ever since last year, when I learned about Louis Vuitton's Mon Monogram from a fashion history book, I've been hankering to possess one. It is its history that fascinates me. Timeless design accompanied with the customised mon monogram service makes it precious and meaningful. Words cannot describe how exhilarated I was when I eventually placed an order. After more than a month of waiting (which was supposedly to be 2 months, but it arrived earlier, so yay for that), this bae's finally here. I can finally see it in actuality. It's so gorgeous and one-of-a-kind, simply incomparable. My first ever personalised mon monogram by Louis Vuitton.

Football? Football

Above are pictures of me and Hui Yee attempting to reenact the poster for The Fault in Our Stars after the exhausting futsal match with classmates last week. Though it didn't turn out as planned, since the pictures are more like our shameless and gratuitous selfies in the middle of the futsal pitch instead of what was in the poster.

I don't usually write about my personal thoughts in this blog. If I'm not mistaken, the last post that I've written that relates to my personal feelings was a post regarding last year's election. However, after countless nights of watching the FIFA World Cup 2014, I've decided that I should write something about it.

Believe it or not, I actually stayed up for nights to watch the FIFA World Cup 2014. From the preliminary rounds to the quarter finals, then to the semi finals and lastly the grand finale. I was unexpectedly hardcore about watching football this time; even I myself couldn't believe it. Well, I used to play inter-class football matches back in high school but I had not watched any football matches on screen before this year's World Cup. There are several reasons that I was constantly doing this extraordinary act for nights through the whole month, causing my eyes to become red, risking my lungs and even damaging my brain. I feel so unhealthy now.

1. Addiction
Ever since I watched the first match which was Brazil VS Croatia, I kind of got addicted to the thrill that I experienced watching the match. The nervous feelings got even stronger when none of the teams scored, there was extra time and even penalties. Furthermore, I really love the moment when your favourite team shoots into the goal and the whole bunch of people watching with you in the living room begin shouting and cheering together. This addiction is just growing day by day. Right now, I already can't wait for the FIFA World Cup 2018 which will be held in Russia. By that time, I will be studying in the UK and I don't have to wake up at midnight just to watch the games anymore.

2. Social
Like I just said, I will be studying in the United Kingdom, and this is (hopefully) going to happen in September next year. As you can see, I want to study there as soon as possible. In England and also most of the other European countries, they all are very into football. From what I heard from others, one of the best ways to build up a conversation with the locals may be the topic of football. Despite doing this for social purposes, I actually gained a lot of knowledge about football through watching the World Cup. For instance, the rules of football, the winning history of different teams, and the names of some iconic footballers, etc.

3. Hot guys and girls
Admit it, who doesn't? I remember back in high school, my math teacher told me that questions related to sports seldom come out. This is because not many students know the specifics of sports like football. She seemed kind of pissed off about the fact that students don't watch football and told us that there are a lot hot guys in the field. She was like, "if that's not the reason to watch football then what is?" I will never forget her reaction. Indeed, there are loads of hot footballers in the pitch and hot girls in the audience. Neymar is like my #1 football star crush now and we share the same birth date hehe.

---

Anyway, I'm having an one week Raya holiday now. Gonna utilize this holiday to study for my AS trials and probably do a few updates on my blog. I apologize for not blogging lately. A-levels is getting serious. To all the A-levels kids out there, I'm sure you're feeling the overwhelming stress currently. Good luck and study well! Last but not least, Happy Hari Raya!

Eighteen

February 5, 2014, the day that I thought that it would be just another normal day, the day that I would be the only one who's so crazily anticipated for it to come and the day celebrating it alone. However, my friends and family somehow proved that I was wrong, in a good way.
I went to college on that day as usual, not expecting anything to happen. Unexpectedly, college friends threw me a surprise at a café during break time! I seriously didn't know how to react when all the passer-by(s) and other customers in the cafe glanced at me as they sang the birthday song.

After college, on my way back home, I received text messages from my boyfriend, telling me he couldn't celebrate my birthday with me, although he was smartly hideous, I knew it was lie straight away though. I thought he was definitely already at my home waiting for me and perhaps we're gonna have dinner together. However, it was beyond what I imagined.

By the time I stepped into my house entrance door, Vichy, my best friend, jumped straight out and surprised me with a loud party popper with confetti(s) flying out scattered all around.  I was literally shocked till I fell and sat right down on the floor. When I got up, Yuen Loong, my boyfriend jumped out and scared me off with a 2nd popper. Boom! Totally caught me off guarded. The whole entire process from the moment I entered the house till the end of the surprise was being recorded. I kept re-watching the video repeatedly, so embarrassed yet so touched. They also gave me a few missions to be completed before arriving at the biggest surprise. Searching for the letters around the house and accomplishing the missions written on the letters. After finishing the task, I finally get to go into my room.

My room, was so pretty and beautiful that day. White and pink helium balloons floating in the air overhanging memorable photos. Also, Hello Kitty and Birthday Diva balloons. Didn't know my room could be this pretty. Not just my photos hanging on the balloon but also the photo of my family, photo of Vichy with me and photo of my boyfriend and me. Memories. It was indeed a birthday surprise that I had always been dreaming about. Thank you my dear Yuen Loong, Vichy and my family for making this come true. Thank you guys for putting so much effort to make this day so memorable. Grateful.

Im officially eighteen years old now.

P license

Finally got my P license last week! I have so much to tell you guys about it! Eff the haze, school's off today and tomorrow (good? well I sense something weird and negative about it although there's free holiday),  anyway,I finally have the time to sit down and blog :)
Well, I had my second driving exam last Monday.  Yea, second exam. You guys may wonder which section did I fail on my first driving exam. So here's to my confession, I passed my slope and side parking, also on the road without bribing. However, I failed my three point turn which is considered as the easiest one. When my mom knew that I failed my three point turn she kept teasing at me. Duh.

I guess I was too nervous and also because I wasnt really used to the car I sat for the exam. But oh well, it was over. I had to pay another RM200 for my next driving exam. With RM200 I could totally buy loads of clothes. So I told myself I musn't fail my next driving exam.

I had to wait for almost a month for my second exam. #costoffailingdrivingexam
I had to pay RM200 for my second driving exam. #anothercostoffailingdrivingexam

On the day of my second driving exam, I waited for like 1 hour for my turn. #andanothercostoffailingdrivingexam, I wouldn't have to wait if I didn't fail my first driving. Hence, in order to prevent exactly the same thing happens again, I MUST PASS this time.

And I did.

HOOORAYYYYYYY

Words can't describe how happy I was.

About 3 days after passing my driving exam, I got home and checked my letterbox. My P license is right there infront of me. I actually told my coach to just drop my P license and the sticker into my letterbox 'cause my mom might be still sleeping. Frankly, I don't really like my P license photo. I took that photo after school and I looked so tired, I think shouldn't let my hair down. But who cares la. Anyway, I went out for driving twice already up now, of course with my father in companion.

Feeling like a grown up with my P license on my hand.
